Anybody will tell you that there is no good artist or bad artist, just an artist who expresses his ideas in his own manner. The same thing goes for the good deviation or bad deviation (read artistic creation).  This way of seeing things is plain stupid, simply because two artists can express the same idea in two different ways that can’t be as good. The not-so-good artist will find ways to improve himself, if he realizes that he is the not-so-good one. One way of finding out is through comments.
Imagine that you are browsing through dA and you find a not-so-good deviation. There are many possible ways of writing your comment:
1)thinking that this is the best way to put it, you submit the most touching comment “ :( ”
2)you are being nice to a stranger, after all this is what the community is all about; you tell him that he “can do better that that” and you add some suggestions that yourself won’t follow because you don’t want to or don’t know how to.
3)you don’t comment at all, the artist might be too sensible at your comment and you don’t want to hurt his feelings; after all, he might be very proud of his “creation”
4)you come up with some real and useful suggestions
5)you are being a wise ass, as usual, and make up a comment containing random words selected from the following list: worse, suck, you, this, photo, your, fat, stupid, go, job, find, family and friends
6)you make a journal in which you call the artist stupid and suggest him to lose weight.
The possible answers at your comments, in the order given:
1):confused:
2)10x :hug:
3)have you seen my latest photograph?
4)10x, maybe next time
5)yeah? and you’re another!
6)there are two possible answers:
    a)do you happen to know a diet that works?
    b)you start insulting one another until one of you gets bored.

What can one do to help the poor deviant that worked his brain out for half an hour to come up with that most useful comment? What about the poor artist that has so many options to choose from? Apparently life is too difficult even here on dA.  It seems that the average deviant is suffering with boastfulness so he either comments in a nasty way just because he knows he is better or either he refuses to learn from some useful comments just because he knows he is better.
This situation will carry on until every individual will realize what his true value is. Until then, there will always be some people that will try to change a mass of deviants by any means (mostly type 5 and type 6 comments, because that is the best they can do). I don’t pity them; I’m starting to enjoy the show.
